The Alkersum declaration
The Frisian Council Section North adopted a so-called Alkersum declaration in 2002. This declaration is based on
- the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany,
- the Constitution of the State of Schleswig-Holstein,
- the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities
- the European Charter for Regional- or Minority Languages.

The Interfrisian Council declaration
Within the framework of the assembly of the Interfrisian Council on 5th May 2006 a declaration was adopted for all three Frisian sections (North, East and West).
